BeachBody Ultimate Reset Day 0

I don't think I have ever been this excited to do something that I know is going to be SO HARD.  Tomorrow, Stewart and I start the BeachBody Ultimate Reset.

In 2009, I was in the best shape of my life.  I was training for the Portland Marathon and doing personal training (weigh lifting and CrossFit) twice a week.  I was 120 lbs (I am 5'7") and 16% body fat.  Most of all, I ate a totally clean diet.  My immune system and mental health was the best it had ever been as a result.  Then, in September 2009, just before my 22nd birthday, I had a terrible anaphylaxis reaction while doing one of my training runs and went into cardiac arrest and stopped breathing.  I had to be intubated and was put in a medical coma for three days.  I suffered from a niched trachia which caused horrible pain whenever I exerted myself, terrible insomnia, and more when I was released from the hospital.  For the longest time I was SCARED to workout, worried that it would put me right back in the hospital.  I started to comfort eat because I felt sorry for myself.

It wasn't until the summer of 2010 that I started to eat clean again.  I started working out regularly again as well.  By this point I had gained almost 20 pounds and weighted in at 137 pounds.  Then... I fell in love with my husband.  He traveled into the U.S. every two weeks - a month and stayed in a hotel (for business) so we only ate out.  Also he had TERRIBLE eating habits that I picked up.  So I gained weight.  Then when I moved to England to live with him, I gained even more weight because I wasn't used to the heavy eating (LOTS of potato and meat) and did a lot of comfort eating.  THEN I got pregnant, and ended up on hospital bedrest, where I gained more weight.  Before I knew it I was 210 pounds and miserable.  I hate the way I look, and the way I feel.  I knew it was time for a change.  I convinced my husband to do the Ultimate Reset with me.

My husband has been grumbling about the detox, but I really appreciate him offering to do it with me.  You would think it was the end of the world that I am making him give up beer, wine, meat, and more for 21 days.  After all it is ONLY 21 days.  While his metabolism and peckish eating habits allow him to maintain a good weight, he certainly does not eat healthily.  His picky eating means usually there are no greens on his plate (unless you count peas, which have little nutritional value) and he drinks 2-3 glasses of wine or beer a night.  I am looking forward to the changes the detox provides him with too.  I have a sneaky suspicion that after all this good detoxing his grumblings will have been for naught AND he might even start to like some of that "green stuff" he refers to!

We will be documenting this whole process with a video diary.  You can watch our record of Day 0 below.  Here is a summary:

I am starting the Ultimate Reset starting at 210 pounds exactly.
Stewart is starting at 147.7 pounds.
